Wings.
Everyone has them. Honestly. Or had them. It's just up to each and every one of us.
People grow, and reality says that if you "grow up", you'll be an adult, but to be really frank, mate, some adults haven't actually grown up. I'm not laughing at adults specifically - to say this in another way, it's like kids who have actually grown up, even if they are nine years old.
I'm talking about wings.
I'm an introvert turned intro-extro, and throughout my days of being the one sitting at the corners of the class quietly observing my surroundings, I have carried this particular ability(?) of introvertism with me throughout the years, even when I've grown to be more happy to be around the people I know.
And throughout these years, I have noticed this particular thing, this part of everyone's soul.
I'm talking about wings.
What are wings, exactly? "Oh no," the occasional non-believer might say, "Grow up, you're not a bird aren't you? Now Major Tom, come back to earth."
There be no wings on this non-believer.
Now back to the question - what are wings? I have noticed, and found out, that everyone's an angel.
Everyone.
You heard me right, you're an angel. Even if you were a serial killer, I can tell you, you were an angel.
Throughout these years the words "You're an angel" or "You're my angel" are absolutely beautiful compliments to bestow upon somebody, and the feeling absolutely leaves your gizzard feeling warm inside.
All babies are angels when they first blink and take in the magnificence of the world. They are curious about what is. They grasp upon a baby's rattle only to wonder what's the jing-a-ling inside. They bite onto toys, because feeling these toys with hands simply isn't enough to feel what is it like whole.
You see them see wonder in everything. From the warmth of the milk they happily suckle on, From the little finger worms daddy wriggles for their tiny little hands to grasp onto and giggle. From their wide eyes as they gaze from mommy's embrace - the trees, the sky, all the curious little furniture in the house.
They wonder. And curiously wonder. The world is full of wonders that never cease to amaze them. They try out so many new things, just to taste every single bit of the world they can grasp. And when they sleep, they sleep. Without worries. With assurance that they'll be able to see the world again once they open their eyes.
Kids are angels. Kids never let the past bother them, nor the future. They are only bothered about the present. Like how the food in front of them isn't as tasty as it should be. Like how today's homework is piled in front of them. Like how they don't get to play because it's raining outside.
The future? It never bothers. The past? Why should it bother?
"Playtime's when I get to play - it's when I can have fun! I don't like homework because it isn't fun."
They tell you their reasons truthfully. They don't hide anything. They don't like homework because it isn't fun - it's ringing with truth.
Every word from kids, every story they tell, they have put in absolute faith and truth in it.
"I, sir! Am the Dragon Knight!"
Adults may laugh, but at that very moment, he, is, the Dragon Knight. Mighty conqueror of the seven seas, friend of the tree nymphs and the giants of the mountains above, ready to save the world.
Kids possess incredible belief and strength for the greater good, and also the utmost amazing ability to forgive, apologize and treat everyone as an equal.
Two kids fighting over a toy. They pull, they tug, they scream, they kick, they punch, they cry.
Childish? No, not really. What you're about to see is the greatest ability kids are capable of.
"I'm sorry, Mary."
He wipes the tears off his eyes as he hands Mary his toy his was fighting over for. An equally small hand slowly reaches to hold the teddy bear.
"It's ok," Mary grins at James. The previous traces of tears vanishing with her smile. James smiles back, and they play together.
Have you seen their wings?
They are as big as the world.
There are many things that can strip us off our wings. I've seen many, many people losing their wings to reality, even if they don't know it.
People can be influenced by so many things, and for some things, even if it's bad, people view it as 'good' because so many people in this world are doing the very same 'good' thing.
One of the examples can be belief.
There is no Santa Claus. There is no Tooth Fairy. There is no Easter Bunny. There is no Sandman.
"There are no dragons in this world, sissy! Only KIDS like YOU believe in dragons, STUPID," Max, a teenager with a Mohawk hairstyle bellows at his 11 year-old sister.
Because of Max, his sister loses trust towards the magical realms of only a child can see.
Because of Max, a part of his sister's wings get stripped.
For alas, there is a Santa Claus, there is a Tooth Fairy, there is all the magical creatures and wonders of this world. For adults have lost belief, and have not even bothered to tell themselves that these creatures do exist, in fear that the real world would laugh at them for being adults who "still believe in fairy tales".
For war.
To simply end this war, adults just have to swallow their pride and say "sorry" to one another. They should just shake hands and apologize. "Let's be friends! Let's help each other from now on."
Adults will laugh at this statement. If you did laugh, you, sir, have already had your wings stripped off. I'm not even kidding you.
This is the simplest, down to earth answer any kid can possibly give you. Forgiveness. Why do you crave power? You are the one who's childish! Any kid can laugh at you.
Let's make war simple:
Country 1: "ROAR. I AM HERE TO CONQUER YOU. YOU DON'T LIKE MY RELIGION, I KILL YOU."
Country 2: "ROAR. YES I DON'T LIKE YOUR RELIGION. I KILL YOU."
And they continue. For so, SO many decades.
We need a teacher. A REAL grown-up. To tell these kids something:
Wings: "Calm down children, there shall be no fighting. You should be ashamed of yourself! Country 1, what should you say to Country 2?"
Country 1 looks down sheepishly and mumbles: "I'm sorry, Country 2."
Wings: "And what should you do, Country 2?"
Country 2 bents head: "I'm also sorry, Country 1."
Country 1 slowly looks to Country 2: "Let's be friends?"
Country 2 grins, a true grin: "Okays."
We need wings. Why are we ALWAYS quarreling about the tiniest things? Why can't we forgive? Why are we constantly worried about the past and the future, and not take time in the present to stop and smell the flowers? Why do we always CRAVE for more, and never be fully contented with what we have? For we, be dewinged folk! We have lost our wings!!
Take time to look at yourself. How many things have you picked up that aren't yours? When was the last time did you truly be yourself? You were influenced by the world for almost everything you do - you think money and relationship love is to cry and stupidly, DIE for (look at the amount of suicide jumps! Children will laugh at such stupidity, honestly!), you think that the world is getting worse and worse, the amount of crime rates are going up, the amount of nonsensical politicians are taking over your country, the weather's getting worse - you are wary of the world, kiddo.
Do not be wary! Do not worry! Worrying can never do anything. Instead of worrying, you sir, make your own wings! Make it fly as it did last time, into the beyond. Use your wings for the greater good and not just sit there slumped, with one hand on your face at the horribilities of the world! You may be the first step to everything. You get your wings back, and you help others get their wings back. You swallow your pride and forgive people, you marvel at the world and cherish life, pure life, wonderful life! You do whatever it takes to make the world a much, much better place than it is now, and the most important thing is, you've got to absolutely listen to your heart.
Help people. Give the world your all as you would want the world to treat you! Remember, everyone's an angel, even those thieves were once an angel. They just have to get their wings back.
Wings. I'm slowly getting them back. Some feathers are dropping, but I shall collect them and place them back, piece by piece, feather by feather. It's honestly hard to tell the world how I feel inside right now, and this post is honestly lacking so much. x( Ah wells, have a happy October everyone! =D
Sakura stamps!
